Cocoa Beach High School Lacrosse

About Cocoa Beach Lacrosse:
Cocoa Beach High School started lacrosse for both boys and girls as Junior Varsity ONLY teams in 2013.  In 2014, both teams moved to Varsity programs.  The teams do not receive direct funding from the school. They, along with the other Brevard County Public High School Lacrosse teams, are funded through player fees, ticket receipts, business sponsorships, and fundraising events organized and managed by their School Program Booster Clubs which are overseen by the Friends of Brevard Lacrosse (FBL) organization.

Over the years the club has continued to grow and become one of the most succesful in the county. As a junior/senior high school the club has added additional opportunities for younger players that are not yet ready to compete at the varsity level. This can include high school level Junior Varsity games during the week, and/or recreational team games on weekends for 14U and 16U players. The makeup of the Junior Varsity and recreational teams can vary year to year and depends not only on the number of Cocoa Beach players, but also on the other local schools ability to field multiple teams. Typically the girls have been able to support both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams while the boys have supported a Varsity team and a 14U and 16U rec team.

All players, regardless of age, start and end practice together.  After team warmups the players will split into smaller groups based on age, ability, and/or specialization. Throughout the year, everyone is encouraged to attend and support all the organizations activities (games, fundraising, family socials).

Supporting Organizations Include:

US Lacrosse:
Governing body for the sport of lacrosse. Primarily serving the youth level, US
Lacrosse, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is committed to providing a leadership role
in virtually every aspect of the game.

Friends of Brevard Lacrosse:
FBL's mission is to raise awareness, funds, and interest to support the ongoing
development of the sport of lacrosse in the Brevard County Public High Schools. There
are over 1000 boys and girls playing lacrosse in Brevard county of which 400 are in high
school. FBL's goal is to ensure that current and future boys and girls have the
opportunity to play high school lacrosse under the auspices of the FHSAA. The FHSAA
provides organization and oversight, which ensures high school athletes compete in a
safe, regulated environment.
